When we buy a product from any store or business we receive a receipt of purchase, proving that the transaction was legally made.
As God’s payment for the sins of mankind was also a legal transaction, bringing us the New Covenant through the blood of Messiah, Jesus Christ, I believe that God Himself also left us a “Divine Receipt Of Purchase” to prove to future generations that the price of sin has indeed been bought and paid for through an amazing article of linen cloth.
As our world becomes more technologically complex, it appears that we are only being given more questions than answers concerning The Truth Of Scripture. Yet, through all of our modern scientific advancements, The Shroud Of Turin has actually increased in relevance to be Proof of The Resurrection Of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The Shroud is mentioned in All Four of the Gospels, and it is the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in at burial:
“WHEN THE EVENING WAS COME, THERE CAME A RICH MAN OF ARIMATHAEA, NAMED JOSEPH, WHO ALSO HIMSELF WAS JESUS’ DISCIPLE”:
“HE WENT TO PILATE, AND BEGGED THE BODY OF JESUS. THEN PILATE COMMANDED THE BODY TO BE DELIVERED”.
“AND WHEN JOSEPH HAD TAKEN THE BODY, HE WRAPPED IT IN A CLEAN LINEN CLOTH”,
“AND LAID IT IN HIS OWN NEW TOMB, WHICH HE HAD HEWN OUT IN THE ROCK: AND HE ROLLED A GREAT STONE TO THE DOOR OF THE SEPULCHER, AND DEPARTED”.
(Matthew 27:57-60)
I believe this 14′ CLEAN LINEN CLOTH to be the very Shroud of Turin. This Incredible relic holds a myriad of secret evidence concerning the death, burial and resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ, and there is nothing else even remotely like it in all the world.
For one thing, there are no dyes or coloring material of any kind on the Shroud material, yet it contains the clear full-body image of a man 5 ’11’ ‘ in height, both front and back.
For centuries, people were mystified as to why the details of the physical image on the Shroud all appear to be inverted, and looking at the face, the lights & darks are exactly reversed from what we are used to seeing. The reason for this was finally discovered in 1898, when photographer Secondo Pia took the very first photograph of the face on the Shroud, and to his utter shock and amazement, the developed photo revealed the Clear & Perfect Image of a Face in every detail.
The developed photograph was proof that the image on the Shroud is actually a Photo-Negative, and it wasn’t until the discovery of modern-day photography that this could’ve possibly been known. In Secondo’s own inspired words, “I Knew That I Was Looking Into The Face Of The Lord”!
The only logical explanation for this is that the Photo-Positive was the Actual Person Whose Face was captured on the Shroud’s negative image, which would have only been created by a Great Burst Of Brilliantly Blinding Light.
Scripture tells us that this Light was in fact the Very Glory Of God The Father who Quickened Our Lord And Savior To Life again in His Resurrection from the dead, which in turn produced the Very First True Photograph known to man, some 1,800 + years before man ever invented photography, leaving that Glorious Picture on earth for a Testimony of His Love.
“THEREFORE WE ARE BURIED WITH HIM BY BAPTISM INTO DEATH: THAT LIKE AS CHRIST WAS RAISED UP FROM THE DEAD BY THE GLORY OF THE FATHER, EVEN SO WE ALSO SHOULD WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE”.
(Romans 6:4)
In 1931 the face on the Shroud was again photographed, and these photos were released to the public, drawing much attention from believers & skeptics alike, including physicians, detectives and scientists. Later when 3D imaging was invented, it was discovered that the entire image on the Shroud, both front & back, had a definite component of height & depth dimension, which in fact showed up on the 3D imaging of the Shroud even clearer than modern day photos do.
Scientists have now proven that the image on the Shroud consists of human cellulose. The chemical signature of red blood is clearly present, and incredibly, this blood has Never decomposed like regular human blood on a garment would certainly have, nor has it even become discolored. That is because the Blood of Jesus is Without Sin and is therefore not subject to the Curse of the Law. In other words, The Blood Of Jesus Christ Is “INCORRUPTIBLE”:
“FORASMUCH AS YOU KNOW THAT YOU WERE NOT REDEEMED WITH CORRUPTIBLE THINGS, AS SILVER AND GOLD, FROM YOUR VAIN CONVERSATION RECEIVED BY TRADITION FROM YOUR FATHERS”;
“BUT WITH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST, AS A LAMB WITHOUT BLEMISH AND WITHOUT SPOT”.
(1 Peter 1:18:19)
When tested, all The Blood on The Shroud was found to contain very high levels of bilirubin, which is consistent with a person who had been severely tortured and beaten. Many of the blood stains on the Shroud are large, and therefore clearly visible to the naked eye, but when examined under ultraviolet light, the serum or plasma around each spot of blood takes on a fluorescent glow, allowing for many less conspicuous blood spots to be clearly seen and recorded.
The Gospels tell us that Jesus was handed over to the Romans and scourged before His crucifixion, and 120 scourge marks appear on the Shroud. The implement of torture often used at this time by the Romans for this purpose was known as the Flagrum, which was a whip of three strands, with each end consisting of a small projection of dumbbell shaped metal that was often barbed to produce maximum pain & damage while tearing into flesh.
Some of these are still in existence today, and the metal projections of this implement line up perfectly with the marks on The Shroud. As a condemned criminal, Jesus endured 40 lashes from this device prior to His crucifixion. (Matthew 27:26)
The nail-piercings and pooling of blood around them are also clearly visible on the Shroud, with the thumbs of both of the hands turned inward towards the palms as a result of the rupture of the median nerve in each of the wrists. Normally, victims of crucifixion in Rome were simply tied by their arms to the upper beam of a cross with ropes, so the fact that the Man whose image appears on the Shroud was pierced through the hands, (as the wrists were considered part of the hand at that time), is Very Unique, yet it lines up with Scripture. (Psalm 22:16)
All facial wounds showing blood pooling are also consistent with the Gospel & Old Testament prophetic accounts, proving that the face of the Man on the Shroud had been struck multiple times. Portions of His beard had been torn out and His nose had been disjointed. (Isaiah 50:6)
Blood marks from multiple head piercings can also be seen on the Shroud, showing that the head of this Man had been pierced with many large thorns that actually formed a “cap” of thorns which covered His entire head, rather than just a circular wreath of thorns that is often depicted in many paintings of Jesus.
Again, to place a cap or crown of thorns on the head of a man being crucified in Rome was not normal practice, and it is in fact quite unusual, but why did they do it to this man? Scripture tells us that Jesus Christ was mocked in this way before being crucified for stating to Pilate that He Was A King Whose Kingdom Was Not Of This World. (John 18:36:37)
The nail wounds on the feet of the Man on the Shroud are shown to have gone through the ankles, and although this would have avoided the breaking of bones, as Scripture tells us that not a bone of Our Lord was broken, these nail piercings would have connected into Many major nerve endings, causing absolutely excruciating pain and making it very difficult for this Man to lift Himself to take a breath, as victims of Roman crucifixion would have had to do to survive a few hours on a cross. (John 19:36)
The evidence on the Shroud also proves that the legs of this Man had not been broken, which is something almost entirely unheard of in the records of Roman crucifixion; that is except for the Eyewitness Gospel Records of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Shroud evidence also proves that this Man received a large gaping wound on His right side between the 5th & 6th rib. measuring app. 1.3/4″ by .7/16″, which would correspond precisely to the width & depth of the blade of the commonly used roman spear of the First Century, known as the Lamaya.
We also know from Scripture that the Body of Jesus Christ was lanced in this very same manner, causing a flow of Blood and Water, which would have resulted from the rupture of The Pericardial Sac surrounding the heart:
“THEN CAME THE SOLDIERS, AND BROKE THE LEGS OF THE FIRST, AND OF THE OTHER WHICH WAS CRUCIFIED WITH HIM”.
“BUT WHEN THEY CAME TO JESUS, AND SAW THAT HE WAS DEAD ALREADY, THEY DID NOT BRAKE HIS LEGS”:
“BUT ONE OF THE SOLDIERS WITH A SPEAR PIERCED HIS SIDE, AND FORTHWITH CAME THERE OUT BLOOD AND WATER”.
“AND HE WHO HAS SEEN HAS TESTIFIED,, AND HIS TESTIMONY IS TRUE; AND HE KNOWS THAT HE IS TELLING THE TRUTH, SO THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE”.
(John 19:32-35)
The placing of small coins over the eyelids of the deceased before burial was common practice in 1st Century Israel. The image of a coin that had been placed over the left eye of the Man on the Shroud has been positively identified by its inscription under magnification to have been a coin known as the Bronze Lepton.
Amazingly, these coins were put out by none other than Pontus Pilate himself between 29-36 AD! The letters on this coin are tiny, just 1/32 of an inch, and only show under magnification, but they are clear, and details like this could not have been forged.
Detailed forensic analysis has identified 41 specific types of pollen from flowering plants on the Shroud which are native only to Israel & Southern Turkey. (This is not surprising, since history tells us that the Shroud was kept in Odessa Turkey for several hundred years before being taken to Turin Italy by the Savoy Family in 1578).
There is also forensic evidence of flowers native only to Jerusalem within a 12 mile radius that were placed in the Shroud along with the body at the time of burial, in addition to an earthen stain linking the Shroud to the Damascus Gate of Jerusalem by analysis of the unique molecular signature present there.
Incidentally, the Garden Tomb of Joseph of Arimathea into which the Body of Jesus Christ was placed after His crucifixion as well as Golgotha, the place where Jesus was crucified, are both located just north of the Damascus Gate of Jerusalem, within a few minutes walking distance.
So, what are the odds of each and every one of these factors lining up so precisely to the Scriptural Gospel Accounts of the Lord Jesus Christ being only a coincidence? I would say that they are just about zero. In fact, many of the secular men & women of science, medicine & forensic investigation who have examined the Shroud have become Firm Believers In Jesus Christ as a result.
The Shroud of Turin has been carefully preserved and guarded over by faithful believers for 20 centuries now, yet it is only by way of the many discoveries & advances in medical and forensic science within the past century that many of its mysteries were able to be fully revealed, and as the words of Daniel tell us, many things have been Sealed Up for these last days:
“BUT YOU DANIEL, SHUT UP THE WORDS, AND SEAL THE BOOK UNTIL THE TIME OF THE END; MANY SHALL RUN TO AND FRO, AND KNOWLEDGE SHALL BE INCREASED”.
“AND HE SAID, GO YOUR WAY, DANIEL: FOR THE WORDS ARE CLOSED UP AND SEALED UNTIL THE TIME OF THE END”.

What an Incredible Time in history for us to be alive, and to be able to Know these Truths.
All of True scientific discovery supports the Word of God, and it is only the fake science, such as evolution, that refutes God’s Word. That ridiculous theory basically states that everything originated from nothing, in a mindless attempt to avoid the Truth.
As I mentioned previously in this message, the blood on the Shroud has never decomposed nor has it even discolored. I understand that a Sample of This Blood was actually placed into a growth medium for 72 hours and was tested in a laboratory in Jerusalem. The results of this test revealed that THIS BLOOD CONTAINS JUST 24 CHROMOSOMES.
Human blood commonly contains 46 chromosomes, 23 from the mother and 23 from the father, but since Jesus Christ had no human father, He received the normal 23 chromosomes from Mary to make Him human, yet only ONE Y CHROMOSOME FROM HIS HEAVENLY FATHER TO MAKE HIM MALE!
The conclusion of the matter: the Shroud of Turin not only proves that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and Is Exactly Who He Claims to be; The Only Savior Of Mankind, but it also proves at What Tremendous Cost Salvation was Purchased for us by Jesus The Son, and is also a picture of, The Incredible Love of both Jesus and the Father to have made such a Sacrifice for us.
